This is an Irish Rebel Song "Come out and fight". It is about some Irish people who really hate the British. This man was born on a street in Dublin where the Royal British Army comes to do bad things. He sings about how they are cowards and sings about his friends making fun of the British. The main character also talks about this story about these Irish people who were fighting and then got executed. This song is pretty short because it just repeats itself, but it is quite interesting and catchy. I really like Irish music because they all sound energetic and happy. It also makes me want to do the Irish dancing which looks really cool to do.
These are the lyrics to the song
I was born on a Dublin street where the Royal drums do beat
And the loving English feet they tramped all over us,
And every night when me father'd come home tight
He'd invite the neighbors outside with this chorus:
Oh, come out you black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wives how you won medals down in Flanders
Tell them how the IRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes in Killashandra.
Come let me hear you tell
How you slammed the great Pernell,
When you fought them well and truly persecuted,
Where are the smears and jeers
That you bravely let us hear
When our heroes of sixteen were executed.
Oh, come out you black and tans...
Allen, Larkin, and O'Brien--
How you bravely called them swine!
Robert Emmett who you hung and drew and quartered!
High upon that scaffold high,
How you murdered Henry Joy!
And our Croppy Boys from Wexford you did slaughter!
Oh, come out you black and tans...
The day is coming fast
And the time is here at last,
When each yeoman will be cast aside before us,
And if there be a need
Sure my kids wil sing, "Godspeed!"
With a verse or two of Steven Beehan's chorus.

Duty or Friendship
Which is worse:betraying one's duty or betraying one's friend? Imagine a situation in which you were forced to make such a choice. What issues would you weigh as you tried to make a decision? Free write for a few minutes about this dilemma.
I think betraying a country is worse than betarying one's friend. A country is a place you were born in, and you have to serve it. A friend is a friend, he might even betray or backstab you. A situation would be like, if your friend is going to blow up a building with government officials in it because he suspects that one of them is a terrorist that is going to blow up the whole country. You, (His Friend), has to choose between helping him plant the bomb or killing him. Maybe if you trust your friend, you could have killed the terrorist, but also many innocent people. But it is not 100% sure that someone is a terrorist. Or you could save your country's officials and kill him or put him into jail. Issues would be that if you kill the officials, you might be considered a terrorist yourself and traitors to your country. If you kill your friend, you lose friendship, trust, and you become guilty. This is my imagination of a situation that would happen.

Under Pressure
What qualities enable people to perform well when facing heart-pounding fear or stress? Think about your own experiences or those of someone you know, as well as news stories or fiction you've read. Then jot down your thoughts about people taking action when the stakes are high.
Qualities such as bravery and will are important for people to perform well when facing heart-pounding fear or stress. People need to be brave just to push out their inner spirit to fight agains stress. People also need the will to fight. Just like soldiers in World War 2, they needed the will to fight against the Nazis and enemies. Even in pain suffering in the trenches with poor food conditions and weather, they pushed themselves to fight and hold the line. Fighting while being tired, scared, hungry, cold is all really painful, but soldiers pushed themselves. I had a experience like that once. During badmintain, it was 12-20. I pushed myself beyond my typical limit. Jumping, smashing, dive hitting, etc all were not typiclly done all the time. However, I wanted to win and I had the will to fight on. People take action when the stakes are high during sport games, war, video games, etc. In sports wether or not to shoot the score or pass, in war, commanding and making your thoughts on where to go, video games to plan ahead to win, and many other ideas. In conclusion, everyone can push themselves to do the best.

Vengeance
What experiences could lead a person to seek revenge? How could an obsession with vengeance lead to tragedy? Jot down your responses and include examples from stories or movies.
Something that would lead a person to seek revenge would probably be like murder, war, and several other things. For example, Genhis Khan's village was attacked by other Mongolians and his wife was kidnapped. He prepared himself and his troops for a revenge and burned the whole rival village down and captured and killed everyone. He tortued them and made them slaves. Misa, a person from this cartoon had a notebook called the DeathNote. When you jot down someone's name on the Deathnote or look at someone's face for once then jot down an image, you can instantly kill that person with a heart attack. She did it in revenge because of a murderer killed her parents and she wrote down his name. Obsessions with vengeance can eventually lead to tragedy because you either regret it, or other people who were friends to that person would want revenge on you too. It is quite sad because many people want vegence, and when it happens, they get nothing out of it. Just like this episode in the Simpsons in TreeHouse Horror. Homer (protraying as this French noble), killed this person who put him in jail because of false charges and stole Homer's wife. Homer's wife actually hated him for doing that and left Homer, which is pretty sad. Vengeance is not good.

The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side
All of us, at one time or another, have felt that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence- in other words, that someone else's life is better than our own. We believe that having what someone else has will make us happy- until we experience the unexpected negative results of envy. Have you ever seen or felt its negative effects?
I have envied people before many times. Seeing people with material goods that I have always wanted. Could be books, games, food, magazines, computer games, computer parts, basically almost anything. For example, I envied that my friend had a Xbox 360 because it was one of the most popular gaming consoles and I did not have one however. Though, I have never had the unexpected negative results of envy nor felt them before. I have envied about many things before but none of the results have happened. Though I wanted the items, I usually forget about it. Like some things that I envy were once very popular at that time, few months later, it might be considered boring and I would easily lose interest. So my envys come and go, envying one thing, then forgeting about it few months later. It is typical me and I would never go crazy or do something drastic to get something that I wanted.
